King of Paparazzi

I saw this documentary on Ron Galella (also known as
the King of Paparazzi) last year and I was really impressed.
the King of Paparazzi) last year and I was really impressed.
Even though I was immediately turned off by the whole paparazzi angle,
I was an instant fan of his craft.
Watching him in the darkroom, developing film.
Cool to learn he got his degree in photojournalism at the Art Center in LA,
and he served as a US Air Force photographer in the Korean War.
Here is a clip of the documentary SMASH HIS CAMERA:

Friday FAIL
I first saw this necklace at a boutique when I was up north in the bay area.
I thought this idea was so cool,
and the jewelry was so simple and fun.

Funny to see Urban Outfitter's trending on twitter yesterday,
getting blasted for completely stealing the design (down to the name)
from independent artist, Stevie Koerer who sells them on Etsy.
She also blogged about it herself here.
I went on UO's site to check it out,
but it looks like they aren't selling them anymore.

Here are a few more items that urban knocked off:

If everybody can be a photographer...

One of my favorite photogs Wayne Lawrence posted this link on his fb page.
This question was asked on foam.org, and definitely is one I've heard before...
I really enjoyed Joerg Colberg's perspective on it.
